More Information
The Hall of Mirrors
Enter the magnificent Hall of Mirrors and be solemnly welcomed in the name of Augustus the Strong. The master of ceremonies takes you on a journey through the history of the Wettin dynasty, accompanied by baroque music and impressive animations. Finally, he gives you a preview of the upcoming carriage ride, while outside the jugglers in the suburb are already waiting for your visit.
The juggler's stage
Step into the colorful world of the suburbs and take a seat in the juggler’s stage. A paper theater awaits you here, which comes to life in an old juggler’s wagon. With sharp comments and crude jokes, the jester character tells tales of court and marriage. A cheeky antithesis to the solemn tones of the Hall of Mirrors. As soon as the curtain falls, the carriages are ready to take you on a journey to the wedding feast.
The virtual reality carriage ride
Take a seat in the carriage and travel back to the year 1719 via VR, passing the workshops and alleyways of the Wilsdruffer Vorstadt and experiencing crafts, poverty and little anecdotes before you reach the magnificent Zwinger. Jugglers, artists and the glittering celebration of the Merkur Festival await you there, right up to the festive appearance of Augustus the Strong with the bridal couple. A firework display over Dresden crowns the journey before you return to the present.
