The journey through time begins with the origins of the city: from the Franconofurd imperial palace to the hustle and bustle on the Mainkai and the Römerberg, guests experience how Frankfurt became a center of royal power and important trade early on. Goethe's Frankfurt and the changing times
At Großer Hirschgraben, visitors meet the young Goethe and immerse themselves in the life of the 18th century. The station shows the rise of the bourgeoisie and cultural change, while views of idyllic Frankfurt around 1800 and the turbulent times of the French occupation complement the changes of this era.
The dawn of a modern metropolis
